Redding is often referred to as the “Vermont” within 60 miles of New York City.  The town has 32 square miles of winding country roads.  Some have been officially designated as “scenic.”

More than one quarter of Redding’s land is permanently preserved open space.  As a result, Redding is sstrikingly peaceful and maintains its rural character.

With two state parks and hundreds of miles of walking trails, the beauty of New England can be enjoyed in all seasons. After a day outdoors, restaurants and businesses on Main Street in the Georgetown section of Redding beckon for another way to enjoy the town’s charm.
