Having a beautiful lawn and garden doesn’t mean you need to use a lot of water.
But homes with automatic sprinkler irrigation systems often use large volumes of water — about 40% more than homes without the systems. All that water can even harmful to healthy lawns and gardens.
That’s why Aquarion worked with state and local officials to develop a twice-weekly, mandatory irrigation schedule in six towns where outdoor water usage is especially high. Customers in those towns are now saving millions of gallons of water each year.
