The small New England town of Bethel, formed in 1855, is located in northern Fairfield County. Bethel is located 60 miles northeast of New York City and fifty miles southwest of Hartford and is accessed by state routes 6, 53, and 58 and Interstate 84. Bethel borders Redding, Danbury, Brookfield, and Newtown.
Bethel is a town of nearly 19,000 people over 17 square miles. It is served by a full-time police force, two volunteer fire departments, and the David W. Deakin Educational Park, which contains five schools from grades K-12 and sports fields on one campus.

The Bethel Library is a real gem right in the heart of our downtown, offering a wide variety of programs for children and adults. Bethel’s outstanding Parks and Recreation Department has more than 70 programs to keep families busy – and the town has one of the most active Senior Centers in the area.
Just outside of Downtown Bethel there is a multitude of great hiking trails like Wolf Pits Preserve, the Enchanted Trail Boardwalk, and Huntington State Park. When you have had your fill of hiking, Blue Jay Orchards is a perfect place to enjoy nature or pick fresh apples. Bethel is also known as a mecca for cyclists. Join us on the lawn of the Municipal Center this summer for food trucks. They will be there on the first and third Friday of each month, starting in June, July and August, 5-8pm.

The Bethel Public Library serves all ages, from children just learning to read to adults who need a novel or several. Also, visit the Library Art Gallery and Exhibit Space.

Ives Concert Park is a prestigious, world-class performing arts center. This majestic outdoor amphitheater is situated on 40 wooded acres with a pond, breathtaking gardens and public hiking trails, and is located on the Westside campus of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Conn.
The Giggling Pig Art and Party Studio offers art lessons for all ages, paint, sip, and giggle parties, and more.
